Georgian International Master and Woman Grandmaster Nino Khurtsidze, born on September 28, 1975 passed away in Tblisi, Georgia on April 22, 2018 at 42 years of age. Last summer her most intimate friends had launched an urgent appeal for help due to her impossibility to meet all costs of the medical treatment necessary to treat and cure her very serious illness.
Two-time World Junior Girls Chess Champion (in 1993 and 1995), she also won the unisex Georgian Chess Championship in 1998 and five times the Women’s Georgian Championship (in 1989, 1993, 2005, 2006, and 2013).
