In the end, Chinese Grandmaster 丁立人 (Dīng Lìrén) had to withdraw from the 6th Altibox Norway Chess in Stavanger, as a consequence of the serious bike accident which caused him the fracture of his left femur. According to a statement made by the organisers, 丁立人 (Dīng Lìrén)’s surgery went fine, but it will take time for his recovery. As for the tournament, having played only three games of the nine-game schedule, his results will only be counted for rating, and not for standings and tie-break.
