39. ... Kg8?? This is indeed an inexplicable mistake, especially since Jobava wasn’t in zeitnot. After 39. ... Kf8 40. Bxh4 a5 41. Be1 a4! Black should be able to hold his own in the ending. 40. Qe6+ Kh7 41. Qxd6. Sic et simpliciter, as Black has no perpetual check. 41. ... Qxb3 42. Kg2 Qxc4 43. Qe6 a5 44. f5 gxf5 45. Qxf5+ g6 1 : 0.
