Today starts the 2nd Vugar Gashimov Memorial in Shamkir (Azerbaijan), scheduled from 16 to 26 April 2015.
For the first time, three World Chess Champions – the current World Champion Magnus Carlsen, former World Champions Viswanathan Anand and Vladimir Borisovich Kramnik will compete in the tournament in Azerbaijan, as well as Fabiano Caruana, Anish Giri, Wesley So, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Michael Adams, and the Azerbaijan Champion Rauf Mamedov will take part in the tournament.
The tournament’s total prize fund is €100,000.
