The Women’s World Chess Championship match between Mariya Muzychuk from Ukraine and 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán) from China will start in Lviv on March 1, 2016. The news was announced at a press conference on Tuesday, November 10, 2016.

“It’s very important for me that the match will be held in Ukraine, because we not often host such great events. Of course, I’m very pleased that the match will take place in Lviv, because there I have friends and supporters”, Maria Muzychuk said.

The Women’s World Chess Championship match venue is the Potocki Palace, while both the opening and closing ceremonies will be staged in the Lviv Theatre of Opera and Ballet.
