Not Exactly

And finally the King of Chess Magnus Carlsen – just a bit thoughtful as pictured above – speaked out against Mr. Andrey Vasilievich Filatov’s provocative proposal to sell the King’s Crown at the best offer when there are too many sellers and very few buyers. “I am not exactly a big fan of that”, he told Tarjei J. Svensen in an interview for Matt & Patt (August 31, 2016), of which we recommend a careful reading. Photo: Chess-News.ru.

A Dance with the King

So today’s visit of the Chinese Olympic sports delegation to the non-profit organization 澳门扶康会康 (Fuhong Society of Macau) clarified (and simplified) at least one point: the SuperSwimmer and world-record-holding 孙杨 (Sūn Yáng) – here dancing side by side with 吴敏霞 (Wú Mǐnxiá) – also claimed the title of King of Dance! And who has the courage to deny it to him? Photo: hk.on.cc.

And so the newly born dance company greeted the revolution, with all gestures and rituals of performance art. Photo: 新华通讯社 (Xīnhuá News Agency)/张金 (Zhāng Jīn).

After the show, however, with good peace of the King of Dance, it can happen that only the prima ballerina shines in the limelight, but no matter what (or at least should not matter!). Photo: 新华通讯社 (Xīnhuá News Agency)/张金 (Zhāng Jīn).

Vectis mihi et ego commovebo mundi!

And now an Italian superstar, Chiara Angelini, virtuoso ballerina and dance teacher of Associazione Culturale “Il Delta della Luna”, enjoying the grace of only one holiday in the year — seven days in Gallipoli, Apulia, Italy. She is a brilliant student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Florence, she teaches and studies dance six days a week, she regularly volunteers for Church service, she is a tireless researcher of music and styles of dance, she takes care of her mother as she was her elder sister, and so on. You’d expect that during her (very rare) free moments she’d flee far from every-day life. Instead, she will always search for the most beautiful sunset for a last dance on beach, and will buy any ticket for any music she will dance to (sooner or later). As Archimedes said, Vectis mihi et ego commovebo mundi! Photos courtesy of Chiara Angelini.

外港客运码头 (Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal)

Immediately following the three-day tour in 香港 (Hong Kong), the Chinese Olympic sports delegation of Sixty-Fours arrived in 澳门 (Macau) on Monday afternoon for a four-day visit, enthusiastically welcomed by hundreds of admirers outside the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal. At the evening welcoming banquet 崔世安 (Fernando Chui Sai On), current Chief Executive of 澳门 (Macau), presented a 14-million-pataca cheque (over €1,500,000 €uros) to the delegation. The government said last week that the money prize was collected among local residents, enterpreneurs and companies, and that the administration was only a “bridge” between the Macanese society and the Olympic stars. Needless to say, all of the Sixty-Fours woke up in a very good mood today, and in the afternoon they paid a visit to the Ruins of St. Paul’s, where a group picture was clearly called for. Once again the irresistible storyswimmer 傅园慧 (Fù Yuánhuì) skillfully seized the time to come first into the limelight! Photo: sports.sina.com.cn.

Yes, she came first, but just because the Golden Diving Duo of the Rio Olympics 施廷懋 (Shī Tíngmào) (L.) & 吴敏霞 (Wú Mǐnxiá) decided to let her take the lead. Photo: sports.le.com.

Swan song

吴敏霞 (Wú Mǐnxiá), in an interview given to the 星島日報 (Sing Tao Daily), has expressed her intention to retire from competitive diving after the three-day show in 香港 (Hong Kong). “First, after the Rio Olympics I stopped training at all, but then, to prepare for my last show, once again I set foot on the springboard”, she said.
After graduating from 上海體育學院 (Shànghǎi University of Sport), 吴敏霞 (Wú Mǐnxiá) will serve as an official to the 上海 (Shànghǎi) Sports Bureau, so to keep contributing to the sport.

The true surprise, however – proof that a Queendom is well worth a Kingdom – was the apparition of the “dethroned” Queen 郭晶晶 (Guō Jīngjīng) (R.) at the crowning ceremony of the new Queen 吴敏霞 (Wú Mǐnxiá) (L.), with 徐子淇 (Cathy Chui) happily seated amidst them. Photo: sports.163.com.
