Nathan Law Kwun-chung, charismatic leader of students’ 2014 雨傘革命 (Umbrella Revolution), together with at least three activists, gained a seat in 香港 (Hong Kong)’s 70-member legislative council (LegCo), after a record 2.2 million people went to the polls on Sunday.
Although pro-China representatives continue to hold the majority of seats, we hope that the “political signal” persuade them of the necessity to undertake peace dialogues within and between the political parties of minorities.
