I was just wondering why the organisers of the World Chess Championship in New York City invited to attend the Coliseum match both Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, but not Linus Torvalds. Objectively speaking, Linux, Android and Chrome should come first than Facebook and certainly not after Windows.

On August 25, 1991, a Finnish computer science student named Linus Torvalds (pictured above) announced a new project. “I’m doing a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won’t be big and professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones”, he wrote on the newsgroup comp.os.minix. It was just the beginning of a very long march. Photo: Steve Double/Camera Press/Redux.
