双规 (Shuāngguī)

During the kangaroo court trial of former 重庆 (Chóngqìng) Communist Party Secretary 薄熙来 (Bó Xīlái) in 2013, he described at lenght the systematic abuse of power of the so-called “investigators”, regularly used to threaten and torture their victims in order to extort their confessions. As for him they were crystal clear. They told him of the corruption trials of two other officials – one who confessed and lived and the other who fought and was executed.
