The Way of the World

Romanian International Master Cristina Adela Foișor died on Sunday in hospital in Timișoara, Romania at only 49 years of age (she was born on June 7, 1967). According to Chess-News.ru’s obituary of her, she was terminally ill and, notwithstanding, she still hoped to represent Romania in the next Women’s World Chess Championship Knockout Tournament to be held in Tehran, Iran from February 10, 2017 to March 5, 2017, but the miracle didn’t happen. She is survived by a daughter, Sabina-Francesca Foişor, Woman Grandmaster, who will play in Tehran.
