Pyotr Veniaminovich Svidler has been named by the organizational committee as the thirteenth contender in the 80th Tata Steel Chess Tournament which will take place in Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands from 12 to 28 January 2018. Therefore the line up is as follows (in alphabetical order): Baskaran Adhiban, Viswanathan Anand, Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, Anish Giri, 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán), Gawain Christopher B. Jones, Sergey Alexandrovich Karjakin, Vladimir Borisovich Kramnik, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Wesley So, Pyotr Veniaminovich Svidler, and 韦奕 (Wéi Yì). The fourteenth and last name (rating criteria based) will be made known on December 1.
