Blowin’ in the Wind

Kofi Annan, the Ghanaian diplomat who served as the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations from 1997 to 2006, has passed away in Bern, Switzerland on August 18, 2018 aged 80 (he was born in Kumasi, Ghana on April 8, 1938), following a short illness. Annan and the UN were the co-recipients of the 2001 Nobel Peace Prize. Pictured above, from left, are Nelson Mandela and Annan in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2006. Photo: Kim Ludbrook/EPA.
