大寒 (The Big Chill)

Swiss bank UBS has issued an internal and unofficial “travel warning” to its staff against traveling to China after one of its women employees — a Singapore-based UBS banker — was asked by Chinese government authorities not to leave the country in order to answer questions regarding unspecified matters. China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not yet provide any response to a request for comments by the Financial Times correspondents in 香港 (Hong Kong) and 北京 (Běijīng). Likewise, UBS spokespeople also declined to comment.

UBS apparently came under the scrutiny of China’s ghostbusters. Photo: 环球时报 (Global Times).
