The inaugural 1st Cairns Cup starts today, featuring, for the first time in the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis’ history, an élite women’s chess super-tournament. The pairings are already out for the first round. The real surprises, as they have not said so, are those which have not (yet) happened.
