Caïssa goes Hollywood! Four-time Women’s World Chess Champion and Rhodes Scholar 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán) made her debút on the big screen starring as a muse in the short film 《水润兴化》 (Wet Xīnghuà), a documentary aimed at unveiling the wonders of 兴化市 (Xīnghuà) (in fact her birth city), 江苏省 (Jiāngsū province), China. 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán): “I come from 兴化市 (Xīnghuà), 江苏 (Jiāngsū), the country’s chess capital, inextricably permeated by Caïssa’s culture. Long known as a land of fish and rice, 兴化市 (Xīnghuà) is rich not only of fish products, but also of deep cultural backgrounds, such as its sea of golden rapeseed flowers and the Water Forest, which have recently attracted many tourists”.
