No one is really in the mood to write tender words on wet wipes that adorn the only bathroom at the rear of the Empire’s stage, and thus even for 居文君 (Jū Wénjūn) and Aleksandra Yuryevna Goryachkina, their post-game words are those which supervisors and proofreaders first captured and then freed back into a sober dictate of Manichaeism. And so, Goryachkina summed up her feelings about her début by saying that she felt she had come close to take something of a chance, without, however, succeeding in it; but, after all, a draw in the first game wasn’t the end of the world. On her turn, 居文君 (Jū Wénjūn) too declared herself to be in peace with the result, not without, however, praising her rival’s determination and perseverance. Photo: 张晓露 (Zhāng Xiǎolù).
