Long Story Short: FIDE announces the Online Nations Cup
文匯報 (Wen Wei Po), April 28, 2020 The Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE) and the Internet chess server Chess.com announce the Online Nations Cup, a team tournament with $180,000 prize fund held May 5–10. Six teams are to take part in it: China, Europe, India, Russia, United States, and Rest of the World. China’s team will be lead by 丁立人 (Dīng Lìrén) and 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán) (pictured). Time control is 25 minutes per player plus 10 seconds per move. The first stage, a double round-robin with all teams, will take place May 5–9. On Sunday, May 10, the top two teams will meet in the final to crown a champion team. ■ 新華社 (Xīnhuá News Agency). |
