18. Rxf7! And suddenly Vitiugov finds himself standing on the verge of catastrophe. 18. ... Bf8 19. Qd3. Goryachkina plays it safely in harmony with her style. 19. Rfxd7 Qxd7 20. Qxa5+− was another strong (and probably stronger) possibility. 19. ... Bc6 (19. ... Rxe3 20. Qxe3 Kxf7 21. Bg4+−)
20. Qxd8? That’s far too much prudence — and probably it must have been a source of regret for Goryachkina. 20. Qc3! Qh4 21. Rdf1 retains very strong winning chances for White in view of her many threats. 20. ... Rxd8 21. Rxd8 Kxf7 22. Kf2 Nc4 23. Bxc4+ Rxc4 24. Nd6+ Bxd6 25. Rxd6 Rc2+ 26. Rd2 Rxd2+ 27.
