On Thursday, December 17, 2020 four-time Women’s World Chess Champion and Rhodes Scholar 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán) gave a lectio magistralis about the secrets of learning chess which was held at the Affiliated School of 罗湖 (Luōhú) Education Institute in 罗湖区 (Luōhú District) at 深圳 (Shēnzhèn), China, and attended by over 200 between students and parents. “The best teacher is passion; without it, nothing is accomplished”, she said. “Furthermore, keeping pace with the times is indispensable to improve the efficiency of chess learning. Hence, children must be taught to handle technology and software”. As a grand finale, 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán) offered a 18-board simultaneous exhibition to the pupils of the 罗湖校园 (Luōhú Primary School).
