Went at the Palazzo delle Poste in downtown Florence yesterday to pay a bill, as only a few peripheral offices are open in the afternoon, and they are usually crowded and queued. To my great surprise and relief, I found only nineteen persons ahead of me — just the time for taking a photo or two of an ancient place of worship from where scarlet letters and renaissance postcards continue to be delivered only in paper by human beings to other human beings. |
