FIDE President Arkady Vladimirovich Dvorkovich said in an interview to Milan Dinić for the British Chess Magazine March 2021 issue that a decision whether to allow spectators at the upcoming second half of the Candidates Tournament will be made only on the very eve of the start, according to criteria based on objective data and not on abstract doctrines. The quarantine upon arrivals has been lifted, provided proof of a negative COVID-19 test. Finally, Dvorkovich offered all the participants the opportunity of being inoculated with Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine, although in such a case, they should arrive early enough to receive both doses.
