FIDE President Arkady Vladimirovich Dvorkovich, speaking with the TASS correspondents today, expressed his reluctance to allow spectators into the playing area of the upcoming Candidates Tournament which will take place from April 19 to 28 at the Hotel Hyatt Regency in Yekaterinburg, Russia. “There won’t be a full-fledged ‘bubble’, but something closer to normality. The question of whether spectators may attend will be discussed with local authorities with regard to the latest epidemiological data. On one hand, of course, I would like the spectators to be attending, but, on the other hand, the stage hall being quite small, there can be no mass audience”, Dvorkovich said. “Instead audience and guests will be allowed into the adjacent broadcasting studios just for the sake of hosts and commentators”. |
