On Saturday, June 12, 2021, an evening party was held in 济南 (Jǐnán), 山东省 (Shāndōng province), China to celebrate 济南银丰 (Jǐnán Yínfēng), the team champion of the 1st “机器人谷杯” (“Robot Valley Cup”) China City Chess League for the season 2020–21. The ceremony was attended, in representation of the team champion, by 卜祥志 (Bǔ Xiángzhì), 卢尚磊 (Lú Shànglěi), 黄仁杰 (Huáng Rénjié), 温阳 (Wēn Yáng), and, least but not last, four-time Women’s World Chess Champion and Rhodes Scholar 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán), who received congratulations and plaudits from municipal authorities and other high public officials. In her appreciation speech, 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán) made it known to all present that she has a special affection for 济南 (Jǐnán), as she was 7 years of age when she moved here to join the classes by International Master 童渊铭 (Tóng Yuānmíng) at 齐鲁晚报棋院 (Qílǔ Evening News Chess Academy). “First, I’d like to thank the 齐鲁晚报棋院 (Qílǔ Evening News Chess Academy) for what they taught me, and also the 银丰集团 (Yínfēng Group) for its strong support to the chess cause. Thanks to the opportunity of the City Chess League, a group of people who have grown up in 山东 (Shāndōng) was gathered together again to take the stage and win yet another national championship.
