President of Chess Federation of Russia Andrey Vasilievich Filatov told TASS on Wednesday that he appealed to both the International Chess Federation (FIDE) and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the ruling of FIDE Ethics & Disciplinary Commission to ban Sergey Alexandrovich Karjakin from competing in official tournaments for six months because of his pro-Russia political stances with regard to the Russo–Ukrainian war. |
