Natalia Vladimirovna Bulanova, wife of 12th World Chess Champion Anatoly Yevgenyevich Karpov, has reassured all chess enthusiasts after visiting her husband in hospital, where he is laid up with a head injury due to an accidental fall. “I visited him this morning, he is conscious, alert, and feels good. He is eager to rush home and just angry that they don’t allow him to go”, Izvestia quoted her as saying. “Doctors say it is too early. He still needs to lay down and rest. He’ll probably be discharged by the end of the week”.
