Lest we forget — on March 9, 2020 Italy was put in lockdown with all travels banned and no social gatherings allowed, in response to a worldwide “call to war” (and to worship of “war heroes”), a war for the defence of humanity from a coronavirus. Three years have passed since that day — only to confirm the saying that in war, no one wins and everyone loses. Indeed, the alien virus has turned itself into a common cold — a seasonal frenemy — and humanity is still very warlike and prone to violence. Photo: Guglielmo Mangiapane/Reuters. |
