A Rapid and Blitz Open Chess Tournament to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Andrey Sheptytsky – Metropolitan Archbishop of Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church from 1901 until his death in 1944 – starts today at 2 PM (14,00) in the Auditorium of the “Lviv Polytechnic” National University.
Many renowned International Masters and Grandmasters on the stage: Women’s World Chess Champion Mariya Muzychuk and her sister Anna, Adrian Bohdanovych Mikhalchishin, Oleg Mikhailovich Romanishin, Yaroslav Zherebukh, Ołeksandr Sułypa, Mikhailo Oleksienko, brothers Andrey and Yuri Volkov, Alexander Ipatov, Alexander Areshchenko, and Margeir Pétursson. |
