The 138th Varsity Chess Match between Oxford and Cambridge will take place Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall, London. As usual, play begins at 12.30 P.M. and spectators are welcome. Iranian chess referee Shohreh Bayat, who has sought asylum in Britain after a picture of her without a headscarf at the Women’s World Chess Championship in 上海 (Shànghǎi) last January made her incur the wrath of the Iranian clergy, will act as arbiter.
