So we could surrealistically argue that four-time Women’s World Chess Champion 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán)’s flashy protest in Gibraltar was not related to the pairings throughout the tournament, but rather to the “unbelievable and weird” dress pairings imposed on her by the contract, until, finally she revolted and, with the careful supervision of her mother, she succeeded in pairing the right colour combination to pierce the screen.
