Former World Chess Champion Veselin Aleksandrov Topalov will give a twenty-eight simultaneous chess exhibition against the members of the European Commission in Sofia, Bulgaria on January 1, 2018, thus marking the start of Bulgaria’s six-month Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The idea was proposed (and unanimously welcomed) by Topalov’s manager, Mr. Silvio Danailov, at the forum “The future of Europe and the Bulgarian Presidency”, held in Sofia on March 16, 2017. |
