From the Dawn of Civilization to the Dark Ages

Magnus Carlsen will be back to the board from Saturday, January 13, at the 80th Tata Steel Chess tournament in Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands, where he will finally play for his honour only, and not, as happened recently both in London and ar-Riyāḍ (Riyadh), to fund and legitimize Agon’s and FIDE’s marketing campaigns with regard to his next World Chess Championship match. There he will meet with most of his potential challengers, but not with everyone.
The coverage and information services, as usual in the Netherlands, will be free and available to the wider World Wide Web, which, both for the audience and the potential challengers, might be the last (or the last but one) breath they’ll be breathing before sinking into Agon’s dark scenographies in Berlin. What will they invent to bring freedom and liberty? Well, we’ll find out only living, of course.
