In an exclusive interview to Evgeny Surov of Chess-News.ru, FIDE President Kirsan Nikolayevich Ilyumzhinov announced today he made a gentlemen’s agreement with the Principality of Monaco to hold the Women’s World Chess Championship match in 2017 in Monte Carlo. Now, as bad news never come alone, Mr. Ilyumzhinov also said that he’s seriously planning to give the United States both the Candidates Tournament (scheduled for March 2016) and the World Chess Championship match (scheduled for October 2016).
