On Top of the World

16th World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen has won the 78th Tata Steel Chess Tournament without losing a single game. It is the fifth time that Magnus has won the tournament, equalling the record set by Viswanathan Anand. Fabiano Caruana from the United States and 丁立人 (Dīng Lìrén) from China shared second place. Magnus received his trophy from Theo Henrar, chairman of the directors of Tata Steel Nederland. Also this year Magnus distinguished himself by playing – Paul Charles Morphy would say – “some devilishly [beautiful] games”. Ad maiora!
