Diving Queen 吴敏霞 (Wú Mǐnxiá), following her yesterday’s 新浪微博 (Wēibó) post, would have officially confirmed her retirement from sport, thus ending her twenty-five years’ career. From Athens 2004 to Rio 2016, 吴敏霞 (Wú Mǐnxiá) participated in four Olympic Games, winning 5 gold medals in total. It was reported that Olympic Goddess’s solemn “goodbye ceremony” will be held on December 20, 2016 at the 水立方 (Water Cube) in 北京 (Běijīng), China. Her betrothed 張效誠 (Zhāng Xiàochéng) learned the news with feelings of regret, carefully avoiding, however, to officially ask her hand in marriage. In the end, she will have to do herself – as a special measure to promote gender equality.
