President of 上海 (Shànghǎi) Chess Academy, Mrs. 单霞丽 (Dān Xiálì), after the first half of the “中国移动” (“China Mobile”) Women’s World Chess Championship match was successfully hosted in the “Paris of the East”, is now finally ready to greet and pass the baton to the other “Half of Sky”, as the grand finale of the “莱茵体育杯” (“Lander Sports Cup”) Women’s World Chess Championship match will be staged in 重庆 (Chóngqìng) from May 12–19.
上海 (Shànghǎi)’s girl, 居文君 (Jū Wénjūn), after the first five games, is leading by two points. But her admirers in 上海 (Shànghǎi) think she could have played better and fear that her insecurity caused her to lose the fourth game. Although 居文君 (Jū Wénjūn) and 谭中怡 (Tán Zhōngyí) are each other’s peer, their personalities are different: 居文君 (Jū Wénjūn) is introverted and shy, cherishing her words like gold, while 谭中怡 (Tán Zhōngyí) is outgoing and fluent. Even if yesterday they showed the opposite of what others say about them. On the board, 谭中怡 (Tán Zhōngyí) played insecurely and erratically, while out of the board, 居文君 (Jū Wénjūn) showed all her sarcasm and irony in the press conference. Apparently, however, 上海 (Shànghǎi)’s girl faced a long-term personal crisis after losing her duel with 谭中怡 (Tán Zhōngyí) in the Knockout Women’s World Chess Championship Tournament in Iran last year. She suffered from a depression that affected her performances for quite a long time. Maybe it’s all behind her now, but prudence is called for. “The final outcome is hard to predict, but I still have confidence in 居文君 (Jū Wénjūn). After all, the strength is still inside her. We must face each game carefully with serene mind”, Mrs. 单霞丽 (Dān Xiálì) said.
