On the occasion of the date marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between People’s Republic of China and Russia, the 6th China–Russia Junior Match of Friendship “国奥棋院杯” (“Guó Ào Qíyuàn Cup”) will take place in 济南 (Jǐnán), 山东省 (Shāndōng province), China from December 11–15, 2019. Besides the encounters between Chinese and Russian youth teams, the big attraction will be the “battle of sexes” between four-time Women’s World Chess Champion and Rhodes Scholar 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán) and Russian Grandmaster Vladimir Vasilyevich Fedoseev, who’ll play each other in a 12-game rapid and blitz match before they close the meeting by giving a joint simultaneous exhibition against the “best youth” of both countries.
