It is a scene that is repeating itself with increasing frequency in almost all Italian cities: large masses of citizens gather in squares and streets to eat and drink together, in open dissent with the government’s mandatory “health certificates” requirements in order to enter public and private places such as hotels, restaurants, bars, parks, movie halls and buses. Thus in Lucca, Tuscany, Italy on the evening of Friday, February 11, 2022, when hundreds and hundreds of people staged a spontaenous and peaceful invasion of Piazza dell’Anfiteatro for a social aperitif.
