Four-time Women’s World Chess Champion 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán) gives her auspicious speech to all participants in the 55th Chinese Chess Championship which is being held from May 6-16, 2024, in her hometown of 兴化 (Xīnghuà), 江苏省 (Jiāngsū province), China. She offered a sincere prayer that her old birthplace, dubbed a “pearl of water town”, may still stand, and that it may continue to be China’s “capital of chess” still for long years to go on.
