Gone with the Wind

Many Iranian women not only took off their veils but also merrily joined their male countrymen in the stadium celebrations at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Women in Iran have been banned from entering stadiums since the Iranian Revolution in 1979, but Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani and his ministry of sports – as well as the majority of Iranians – do not agree with the stadium ban, so, who knows, something might even happen quite soon.
