From left: 11th World Chess Champion Robert James “Bobby” Fischer, Eddu Þráinsdóttur (the widow of Freysteins Þorbergssonar), and Garðar Sverrisson, Bobby’s closest friend in his last Icelandic days and after his death his executor, sitting in front of a chessboard. Apparently, it is the only existing picture of Fischer and Sverrisson together. Photo: sedogheyrt.is.
