In 1963 Time photographer Julian Wasser took a series of pictures of Dada artist and chess Master Marcel Duchamp playing chess with a nude model, Eve Babitz. As André Schulz observes in his article “The story of a picture”, “The picture was supposed to celebrate Marcel Duchamp but in the end it made Eve Babitz an icon”.
