The 7th Norway Chess starts tomorrow (Tuesday, June 4) in Stavanger — starring 16th World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, 丁立人 (Dīng Lìrén), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Alexander Igorevich Grischuk, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Viswanathan Anand, Wesley So, Levon Grigori Aronian, and 余泱漪 (Yú Yāngyī) — with its new gambling “no draw” format.
It’s quite uncertain, however, whether such a format will ever become a standard, and whether even such an outstanding lineup of superheroes may succeed in stealing the scene from the women candidates in Kazan, Russia.
