11 years after her first time around, four-time Women’s World Chess Champion and Rhodes Scholar 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán) will appear as the hologram of Caïssa in the Salle Molière of the Holiday Centre CCAS at Cap d’Agde, France to bless the 25th anniversary of the first running of the chess festival CapÉchecs as well as the 17th anniversary of the Rencontres Nationales et Internationales d’Échecs, by taking part in the 7th Karpov Trophy from October 24, 2019 to November 2, 2019. The eight participants — namely, Étienne Bacrot, Bassem Amin, 侯逸凡 (Hóu Yìfán), Sarasadat Khademalsharieh, Elisabeth Pähtz, Alexey Vasilyevich Sarana, Nihal Sarin, and Marie Rachel Sebag — will play an initial double round-robin and then the lop four will go on to play a knockout series of matches.
