Italian writer Roberto Saviano, through the columns of la Repubblica, asked the Chief of the Staff of the Italian Navy not to adopt disciplinary measures against the female lieutenant who, at the oath-taking ceremony in the Italian Navy’s NCO School of Taranto, improvised a choreography on the notes of Master KG’s hit Jerusalema, dragging the soldiers into the dance. “I ask Commander Giuseppe Cavo Dragone to deny rumours of disciplinary measures, because that dance in the barracks powerfully showed the soldiers’ humanity. The lady officer is deserving of praise rather than of blame”, Saviano said.
