The 3rd Fischerandom Chess Showdown starts tomorrow, Friday, being organised, as usual, by the Saint Louis Chess Club, but hosted online on Lichess due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As in the first two editions, 13th World Chess Champion Garry Kimovich Kasparov is going to challenge The Best of Youth of the board, including world numbers one and two Magnus Carlsen and Fabiano Caruana. The format is a 10-player round robin at a rapid time control of 20 minutes plus 10 seconds per move. The other participants are (in alphabetical order): Levon Grigori Aronian, Leinier Domínguez Pérez, Alireza Firouzja, Hikaru Nakamura, Wesley So, Pyotr Veniaminovich Svidler, and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave.
