For the second day in a row, a fifteen-minute blackout fell on the script for the grand finale of FIDE Women’s Grand Prix 2019–20. And that, apparently, was a long enough time to make everyone live happily and peacefully: Kazakhstani Grandmaster Zhansaya Daniyarovna Abdumalik brought home first prize awards for her two goals, while Ukrainian-Russian Grandmaster Ekaterina Aleksandrovna Lagno managed to secure the very last ticket for the next Women’s Candidate Tournament. Last but not least, Ukrainian Grandmaster Mariya Olehivna Muzychuk and Azerbaijani International Master Gunay Vugar qizi Mammadzada took second and third prizes respectively. Photos © David Llada. |
