According to Sovetsky Sport reports, FIDE gave Canada a deadline to March 8, 2024, to fulfil their visa obligations with respect to Indian and Russian participants in the Open and Women’s Candidates Tournaments. FIDE Director General Emil Davidovich Sutovsky assured that in case of failed compliance with the set deadline, both the Tournaments will be moved all the way to another country without any postponements.
