Little by Little

28. dxe6? Thus White surrenders the d-file to his opponent. He ought to content himself with 28. Bh3 Qb5 29. Bf1 Qd7 offering a draw by repetition.
28. ... fxe6 29. e5? Just to make things worse, here comes the second mistake. The lesser evil was 29. Bf1 Rd8 with an obvious edge for Black.
29. ... Rd2 30. Qc4? The giving up of the b-Pawn only makes White’s situation the more wrenching. However, 30. Qc3 Bxg2 31. Kxg2 Qd5+ 32. Kg1 Rf8 also leaves no room for optimism.
30. ... Bxg2 31. Kxg2 Rxb2 32. Rf3 Qc6 33. Qf4 Rb3 34. Re3 Rxe3 35. fxe3 Qd7 36. g4 Rd8 37. g5 hxg5 38. hxg5 Qe8 39. Qh4 Qg6 40. e4 Qh7 41. Qf4 Qh5 42. Kg3 c4 43. Kg2 Rd3 44. Qf8+ Kh7 45. Rxd3 cxd3 46. Qd8 Qe2+ 47. Kg3 Qe3+ 0–1.
