Recycling Art

Fabrice Monteiro is a photographer based in Dakar, Senegal. His series, The Prophecy, focuses on environmental devastation in Senegal, with 10 images featuring models dressed in eerie debris costumes crafted by Senalgese fashion designer Jah Gal/Doulsy, will be on show at Photo Basel 2017 until 18 June. Aelita: Queen of Mars

Aelita (Аэли́та) is a silent science-fiction film directed by Soviet filmmaker Yakov Alexandrovich Protazanov made at the Mezhrabpom-Rus’ film studio and released in 1924. It was based on Aleksey Nikolayevich Tolstoy’s novel of the same name. The costumes were made by the artist Aleksandra Aleksandrovna Ekster.
