A chubby rat which got stuck in a manhole cover has been saved by seven firefighters in Bensheim, Hesse, Germany. The fire service was notified after
the rotund rodent was spotted trapped in the cover’s drainage hole by a passing family. It reportedly took the firefighters just three minutes to rescue the rat, which safely escaped back down the sewer. Photos: Berufstierrettung Rhein Neckar.

A daredevil raccoon finally reached the top of a high rise building in Minnesota. The creature was watched by thousands of people online as it spent almost 20 nail-biting hours scaling the facade of a 25-storey office tower in Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States. Once rescued, it was released back in the wild.
